Use of the Collections

Rules and Guidelines for Use of the Collections

Archival and special collections are non-circulating. All manuscript materials and books must be read at tables in the Reading Room under the supervision of archives staff. All food, drink, coats, and bags must be left in a locker or in the archivist’s office. Laptops, phones, pencils, and paper (loose leaf or notebooks) are allowed in the Reading Room. The Reading Room has pencils and paper for use as needed. Hands must be clean and free of lotions, perfumes, etc. Hand sanitizer and hand wipes are not acceptable substitutes for hand washing. Archives staff will instruct users in the proper handling of materials.

Attribution Policy

When publishing materials from the Marion B. Gebbie Class of 1901 Archives and Special Collections, please send two copies of the publication to the Archives, and attribute the materials in the following way: Folder title. Name of Collection. Several archival and manuscript collections contain materials under restriction. A researcher may submit a written request for access to restricted records. This request will be sent for approval to the appropriate officer at the discretion of the College Archivist.
