Kate is the Director of Archives and Digital Initiatives, serving as both a technology specialist and teaching partner. She is responsible for conceiving, planning and implementing projects to digitize and preserve the unique materials of Wheaton, including initiatives for research data management; faculty, student and collaborative publication; digital preservation; and asset management. She can help faculty and students create, publish and use different digital information resources in their classes and research.
Contact Kate for questions about submitting content to the Wheaton College Digital Repository, accessing digitized archival material, and using our collections on ARTstor for classes.
Kate holds an MSLIS from Simmons College, and is a Wheaton alumna, Class of 2004. She can’t go five minutes without telling you that she is an Irish-Italian kid from Staten Island, NY. She not-so-secretly loves developing metadata schema, while live music (particularly Springsteen concerts), cooking and people-watching are some of her favorite activities outside of work. She fully subscribes to Julia Child’s notion that “a little bit of everything” leads to a very full and healthy life.
