Janis is Wallace Library’s Collections Librarian. As part of the Discovery & Access team, she connects the Wheaton community to scholarly resources that support teaching and learning. She works to implement a holistic collections strategy that balances print and electronic collections, monographs and continuing resources (i.e. subscriptions), course reserves, open educational resources, and Wheaton’s unique digital collections in a community that prioritizes inclusion, belonging, and accessibility.

Contact Janis to make purchase requests or recommendations.

Janis holds an MS in Library and Information Science from Simmons University and Art History degrees from UMass Amherst and Tufts University (MA and BA, respectively). Prior to her time at Wheaton, she spent fifteen years at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts first as their Visual Resources Coordinator then as their Visual Literacy and Arts Librarian.

An amateur bird watcher, she wholeheartedly thinks the North American wild turkey should be our national bird– respected and appreciated and never eaten.
